We had a Spelling Test on February 29th. It was leap day. The next leap day will be in 2020. We will be in 7th grade. Did we also mention it's the beginning of March?!?! We took club pictures + we all got our class pictures back!!! Spring Break is coming soon!!! Soon we will have a field trip to see a play about Chicago for social studies. In math we learned about fractions. We cut out fraction cards to help us study equivalent fractions and to compare them. In reading we learned about figurative language. Like personification, idiom, similie, and Metaphor. We read some in the Fables.

This week was so exiting. We got to see the 4th Grade show that was Pirates. It was amazing. In Math we took our test on multiplication and a pre-test of fractions. Yes that's right we are studying fractions. We are also studying IL in social studies. In gym we did volleyball and some games. On Friday we had twin day where you ware the same clothes as someone. It was also World Read Aloud day. We also skiped with two ather's the athor from the ballpark series and puppy place series. We had a great time this week. How was your week? THIS IS ABOUT ARE WEEK!
The Windy Week by Frank and Will
This week it was so windy! Luckily there was no school on Monday! ! It was so windy that people fell over!!! In math we practiced more multiplication. We also learned about median=middle mode=most mean=add them up and divide maximum=highest minimum=smallest Range=subtract the biggest and smallest. In writing we are reading more Charlotte's Web we are almost done. In LMC we are making a book cover about a mystery book we read. We used pixie to draw it. In reading we talked about mood in a book. We had a Valentines Day party. We played bingo, headbands, don't spill the candy. It was so fun. We are so glad that the moms put this together. We watched a play at school called tales of olympus it was really cool. there were 5 gods. We learned about Greek Mythology. We did a experiment with paper towels. We made models to show plants. The fattest one that had the waxy paper was the wettest, so it would survive best in the desert. The skinniest one was dry so it would not live good in the desert. The 100th day of school was on Wednesday. We did rotations like draw a picture with 100, name collection boxes in math, and 100 piece puzzle races and more things. In math, we are doing multiplication still. We did more with parentheses and did problems like in basketball. In reading we learned how to find mood. In grammar we learned about past-tense verbs. In writing we are reading Charlotte's Web and writing WEX. We got an OSMO too. It uses a ipad and we can do math games and spelling and other things too.

writing a big response for Charlotte Web Math got volume 2 math book, did more multiplication, and started doing problems that looked sort of like this (9-3)+7=13 science explored owl pellets Vocabulary Book= Malling May Flabbergasted=VEARY surprised Slog=walk slow and heavy Permissible=allowed or permitted Commence=begin or start Impermissible=not allowed or permitted Adventuresome=feeling bold and ready for an adventure We also had a test on the words up above Grammar We started to study verbs. And we did a couple of worksheets that are 2 sided. Owl Pellets We found bones, fur, whiskers, and feathers. This helped us learn about what owls eat and where they live. This week we worked on state postcards. We had to do research on our state. We read books and used Pebble Go Next. We did a map test. It asks us questions about math. We did it on the computer. In grammar we worked on subject/predict. Here is our example: The dog played in the snow. The subject is the dog the predicate is played in the snow. We are also doing the battle of the books. We are all reading monarch books And we did novel engineering with ms.Leigh's class from the book super complete the messiest. We had to design and make a way for Sophie to solve some of her problems from the book. Then we shared our projects with the class. Some people even did commercials for their idea.
We talked about the word cherish, delirious, fret, snug, advise, and coax. We worked on our music program in music class. We had a quiz about states and capitals. We are in the unit of gymnastic in gym class. We are writing poetry in writing, and NF in reading.
This is what we did some days this week. Every morning we checked our math homework. Then for vocabulary we learned six new words from the book: Julius Baby of the World. The words are doubtful, nifty, dazzle, ghastly, quiver, command. And for writing we did 2 word poem and a Cinquain poem. In math we did big number place value. That is were we read numbers up to the millions. In gym we did gymnastics. In Grammar we leaned Common Nouns and Proper Nouns like for example this is a Common Noun would be restaurant and a Proper Noun would be McDonalds.
We had a awesome TFK on Monday it was so fun to have one. On Thursday we had a lock down drill. In math we are learning multiplucation and divison. Today we had a assembly it was with dancers. Today was the best week ever.
This week was great! In math we started a new unit on multiplication. In reading we learned about some non-fiction structures two are reference and literary. We learned six new words this week. Here are some of them Frantic, plummet, secure, gasp. This year we just started Pasta For Pennies, are school is raising money for cancer. The winner gets a free class lunch sponsored by Olive Garden! In social studies we started learning about the Mid West states.We made cards to memorize the Mid West states and the capitals. In grammar we learned about proper and common nouns. In writing we used the Chrome Books for the personal narrative. We had to pick a journal and write more about it. We had a AWESOME week!
